Oceanus Britannicus[1][2][3] sive mare Britannicum[4][3][5] sive et Manica[6][7] est pars Oceani Atlantici quod Angliam meridianam a Franciam septentrionalem separat, et Atlanticum cum Mari Germanico coniungit. Hoc fretum est circa 560 longum, et latitudine inter 240 km et 34 in Freto Gallico variatur.[8] Minimum ex maribus humilibus circa dorsum continentis Europaei aream circa 75 000 km² comprehendit.[9]
