Thermae Diocletiani fuerunt omnium umquam ab imperatoribus Romanis exstructarum thermarum maximae sumptuosissimaeque. Thermae inter annos 298-306 aedificatae sunt. Opus iam a Maximiniano inchoatum, cum autumno anni 298 Romam revertit, post eius mortem a Diocletiano continuatum et a Constantio, Constanini patre, perfectum est.[1].
Multa conclavia thermarum conservata sunt, cum postea in ecclesias, monasteria et alia conversa sunt:
Museum Nationale Historiae Naturalis Vasingtoniae partim elementa architectonica thermarum Diocletiani imitando aedificatum est.[2]
