Le lutécium (Lu, numéro atomique 71) possède un isotope stable,175Lu, qui représente la grande majorité du lutécium naturel, et un radioisotope à longue demi-vie, 176Lu (demi-vie de 3,78 × 1010 années). 34 radioisotopes ont été caractérisés, dont les plus stables (outre 176Lu) sont 174Lu (demi-vie de 3,31 ans), et 173Lu (1,37 ans). Tous les autres isotopes radioactifs ont des demi-vies de moins de 9 jours, et généralement de moins d'une heure. L'élément possède également 18 isomères nucléaires, dont les plus stables sont 177mLu (t1/2 = 160,4 j) et 174mLu (t1/2 = 142 j).
Le lutécium naturel est composé de l'isotope stable 175Lu et du radioisotope primordial 176Lu.
