Maebashissa järjestetään vuosittain festivaaleja, kuten Hatsuichi, joka pohjautuu muinaisiin raakasilkin markkinoihin. Neljän päivän pituinen tanabata-festivaali järjestettiin ensimmäisen kerran 1951 ja Maebashi-festivaalit toisen maailmansodan jälkeen, jolloin lähes raunioina olevaa kaupunkia ryhdyttiin rakentamaan uudelleen. Tuolloin niitä kutsuttiinkin Uudelleenrakentamisen festivaaleiksi. 15. elokuuta järjestetään ilotulitus.
Maebashi isännöi yleisurheilun sisäratojen maailmanmestaruuskilpailut 1999.
