Gautak[1] (antzinako ingelesez: gēatas, ˈjæɑ̯tɑs; antzinako eskandinavieraz: gautar ˈɡɑu̯tɑr; suedieraz: götar, ˈjøːtar) Suedia hegoaldean bizi zen germaniar jatorriko herria zen. Bere kondairazko erregeetako bat aski ospetsua da: Beowulf, izen bereko anglosaxoierazko poemaren protagonista.
Gaur egungo Suediako Götaland ("Gauten lurraldea") eskualdeari bere izena antzinako herri honi zor dio.
Beowulf poema epikoaren itzulpenean, hainbat alditan gautak Danimarkako jutoekin nahasten dira. Hala ere, olerki honek berak lehenbiziko zatian hasieratik bereizten ditu jutoak eta gautak. Azken herrialde hau Beowulf heroiaren sorlekua da; olerkiaren bigarren zatian, herensugearen aurka borrokatzen denean, haien errege gisa agertzen da.
Gautak, godoak (guter, götar, göttar) eta jutoak (juther, jyl (lander)) izenek duten antz handia hiru herrion jatorri komuna adierazten dute. Etnia hauek Eskandinavian elkarrengandik hurbil bizi izan ziren eta euren hizkuntzak oso hurbilekoak ziren ere, III. eta V. mendeen arteko migrazioak gertatu aurretik.
