Borrowed from Old Church Slavonic врьхъ (vrĭxŭ), from Proto-Slavic *vьrxъ. Compare Serbo-Croatian vrh. First attested in the 16th century.
vârf n (plural vârfuri)
Vârf takes the spatial preposition în, unless it refers to a mountain peak, in which case it takes pe as expected.
