Inherited from Old Spanish lleno, lenno, inherited from Latin plēnus, whence also Spanish pleno, which is a borrowed doublet. The Latin word derives from Proto-Italic *plēnos, from Proto-Indo-European *pl̥h₁nós (“full”).
