Borrowed from Latin apocalypsis, from Ancient Greek ἀποκάλυψις (apokálupsis, “revelation”), from ἀποκαλύπτω (apokalúptō, “to disclose, to reveal”), from ἀπό (apó, “from”) + καλύπτω (kalúptō, “to cover, to conceal”).
