Ideogrammic compound (會意 / 会意): + - catch a bear with a web. According to Shuowen Jiezi, it originally means "catch criminals"; according to Zhang Shunhui (張舜徽), it means "tired" with a reference to a bear being caught while tired after a chase. The web at the top of the character is well visible in its original version 𦋼.

Etymology 1
