共克時艱
A phrase oft-used by Chinese state media, as if short for 共同克服時下艱難/共同克服时下艰难 (gòngtóng kèfú shíxià jiānnán). It is ridiculed by some, since this phrase, when read in reverse, becomes 艱時克共, meaning “difficult times subdue the Party”, “times are tough so we should all oppose the Communists”. The term can also be understood to mean "to achieve the tough times together" under the usual grammar.
