From ἔκκλητος (ékklētos, “summoned”) + -ῐ́ᾱ (-íā, abstract noun suffix), from ἐκκαλέω (ekkaléō, “to call forth, summon”), from ἐκ (ek) + καλέω (kaléō).[1] The τ (t) changes to σ (s) by palatalization and assibilation, triggered by the following ι (i).
