Cognate with Ukrainian месть (mestʹ), Old Church Slavonic мьсть (mĭstĭ), Bulgarian мъст (mǎst), Czech msta, pomsta, Slovak pomsta, Polish pomsta, zemsta. See Proto-Slavic *mьstiti for more information.
