- ⟨γγ⟩ is [ŋɡ] ([ɲɟ] before a front vowel); commonly reduced to [ɡ] (or [ɟ]) in informal speech. The gamma remains a fricative ([ŋɣ] or [ɲʝ]) in some words, e.g. εγγενής, έγγραφο, συγγραφέας.
