In November 2018, Sauber entered a partnership with Czech team Charouz Racing System to form the Sauber Junior Team, followed by the creation of a karting team in March 2019.[2][3] After 2019 Sauber parted ways with Charouz and rebranded the programme as the Sauber Academy.[4][5] A formerly existing Sauber's Karting Team, aligned with Kart Republic, also entailed various drivers.
In December 2024, Sauber Academy announced that their full complement of drivers (Théo Pourchaire, Carrie Schreiner and Zane Maloney) would graduate at the end of the year, with Schreiner becoming a Team Brand Ambassador.[6]
