Pachychilon pictum, the Albanian roach, is one of a few species of cyprinid fish so named, found predominantly in Albania and in parts of Greece, North Macedonia, Kosovo, and Montenegro; and since the 1980s, introduced subpopulations have become established in the Adour, Dordogne, Garonne and Aude river systems in southern France, and in the Serchio River system and Lake Massaciuccoli in Tuscany, northwestern Italy.[1] Its natural habitats are rivers and freshwater lakes.
