Her 22 crew were evacuated by helicopter.[17] Modern Express proceeded to drift for several days, and was sighted off the coast of France, but was successfully taken under tow by the tug Centaurus ( Spain) on 1 February.[18] She arrived at Bilbao, Spain on 3 February.[19] Modern Express was declared a total loss. She departed under tow on 20 September for scrapping at Aliağa, Turkey.[20] |
