Legal status of cocaine

The legal status of cocaine varies worldwide. While many countries have banned its sale for recreational use, some have legalized possession, personal use, transportation, or cultivation, and others have decriminalized it for certain purposes. It is important to distinguish cocaine from coca leaves and the coca plant itself.
