An ancient temple Shri Nandraz Nundkishore was located an elevated place at Ashmuji bus stand with a beautiful stream flowing at the backside of it. It is considered to Bhairav. There was a community centre (Bhawan -Sarai) on 14 marlas of land and a cremation ground on 12 kabaks of land. Ashmuji is believed has emerged from word Ashtbuja - Mata Ashtbuja and Shri Nandraz used to be Bhairava of the region. Ashtbuja was deformed into Ashmuji with the time. There used to a big temple of Mata Ashtbuja on banks of river Vishoka- river Veshwa now. There used to tiratha with Vihara here. Ashtbuja was deformed with time as Ash mouj and to Ashmuji.
