The Aghanashini River or Tadadi Hole (also historically called the River Merjee) is a river located in India about 29 km south east of Anjediva Island.[1] The village of Aghanashini is located at the mouth of the river. The river Aghanashini originates at Shankara Honda in the Sirsi city of Uttara Kannada district as per older source. But currently this river is originating from Gadihalli village, near Sirsi city (Sirsi taluka) at an altitude of 676m above MSL in the Western Ghats of Karnataka State (District: Uttara Kannada) (Ref: https://indiawris.gov.in/wiki/doku.php?id=aghanashini | 24/08/2021). This Gadihalli is approx 8.4 kms distance from the older source Shankara Honda. So due to time and weather change, urbunization the source become a bit shifted from its older originating point. The water from this river flows unobstructed through the Western Ghats range and then joins the Laccadive Sea near Gokarna. Karnataka's one of the famous waterfall unchalli waterfalls situated on this river.
