The 2025 FIM Moto2 World Championship will be a part of the 77th FIM Road Racing World Championship season.

All teams will use series-specified Pirelli tyres and Triumph 765cc 3-cylinder engines.[28][29]
Team changes
- Yamaha VR46 Master Camp Team left the championship after Yamaha and VR46 ended their three-year partnership.[30] They were replaced by Blu Cru Pramac Yamaha Moto2 Team, which opted to run the Boscoscuro chassis instead of the Kalex.[31]
- Elf Marc VDS Racing Team ended their 13-year partnership with Kalex and also switched to Boscoscuro.[32]
Rider changes
- 2024 Moto3 World Champion David Alonso will make his intermediate class debut with the Aspar Team, partnering him will be Daniel Holgado who finished the season Runner-Up
- Collin Veijer makes his intermediate class debut this season with Red Bull KTM Ajo, replacing Celestino Vietti who switches to Speed Up Racing replacing Fermin Aldeguer who steps up to the premier class with Gresini Racing
- Jake Dixon leaves the Aspar Team to join forces with Elf Marc VDS Racing replacing Tony Arbolino who links up with the Pramac Yamaha Moto2 Team. He will be paired up alongside Izan Guevara who leaves the Aspar Team after two seasons
- Jeremy Alcoba will leave the championship to join the 2025 FIM SuperSport World Championship
- Darryn Binder leaves Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP after two seasons to join the Gresini Racing team to replace Manuel Gonzalez who joins Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP
- Daniel Munoz will make his full time debut this season with Preicanos Racing Team replacing Bo Bendsyender who joins the 2025 FIM SuperSport World Championship. Munoz raced in the European Moto2 Championship and served as a replacement and wildcard rider in 2024.
- 2024 FIM SuperSport World Championship champion Adrian Huertas will make his Grand Prix debut with Italtrans Racing this season. He is replacing Dennis Foggia who steps back to the 2025 FIM Moto3 World Championship with the Aspar Team
- Ayumu Sasaki moves to RW-Idrofogia Racing GP on a new 2 year deal replacing Barry Baltus who joins Fantic Racing taking the seat over from Xavi Cardelus who joins the 2025 FIM SuperSport World Championship
- Ivan Ortola will make his intermediate class debut with MT Helmets-MSi replacing 2024 Moto2 World Champion Ai Ogura who steps up to the premier class with Trackhouse Racing
- Yuki Kunii returns to the world championship making his intermediate class debut with Idemitsu Honda Team Asia replacing Somkiat Chantra who steps up to the premier class with LCR Honda
- Jorge Navarro will make his full time return to the intermediate class for the first time since 2020 replacing Xavier Artigas at Forward Racing
