Kamorta or Kalatapu is a village on the Kamorta Island, in the Nicobar district of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. It is located in the Nancowry tehsil.[1] This is also the home of Indian Naval Base named INS Kardip,[2] which was commissioned in 1973.[3]
According to the 2011 census of India, Kamorta/Kalatapu (including Sanuh) has 513 households. The effective literacy rate (i.e. the literacy rate of population excluding children aged 6 and below) is 88.44%.[4]
