Gabriele Gysi (* 13. Juli 1946 in Berlin) ist eine deutsche Schauspielerin und Regisseurin.
Gabriele Gysi wurde in Berlin als Tochter der Politiker Irene und Klaus Gysi geboren und ist die ältere Schwester des Linkspartei-Politikers und Rechtsanwalts Gregor Gysi. Väterlicherseits stammt sie aus einer Berliner Familie, deren Stammvater, der Seidenfärber Samuel Gysin (* 1681), im frühen 18. Jahrhundert aus Läufelfingen (Schweiz) eingewandert war.[1] Gabriele Gysi hat auch jüdische Vorfahren, so einen jüdischen Urgroßvater mütterlicherseits und eine jüdische Großmutter väterlicherseits.[2]
Sie besuchte die Staatliche Schauspielschule Berlin und war vor der Wende (1989/90) lange Zeit an der Volksbühne Berlin, aber auch an anderen Theatern (z. B. dem Theater in Anklam) beschäftigt. Am Theater Karl-Marx-Stadt, am Volkstheater Rostock und an der Compagnie de Comédie Rostock führte sie Regie. Von 1973 bis 1981 wirkte sie außerdem in einigen Hörspielen des DDR-Rundfunks als Sprecherin mit.
1984 verließ sie die DDR. Von 2007 bis 2008 war sie Chefdramaturgin der Volksbühne Berlin.
Gabriele Gysi lebt in Berlin-Johannisthal.
