Es troba a la Xina (Guangxi, Guizhou i Hong Kong^[2])^{[3][4][5][6][7]} i el Vietnam.^[8]

Estat de conservació

Només Oreonectes anophthalmus, Oreonectes furcocaudalis i Oreonectes platycephalus apareixen a la Llista Vermella de la UICN.^[19]
