Mercedes-Benz ili samo Mercedes jest proizvođač automobila u svijetu. Sjedište kompanije je u Stuttgartu, Njemačka. Merecedes-Benz proizvodi ne samo automobile nego autobuse, vozove i kamione. Trenutna firma koja je vlasnik Mercedesa je DaimlerAG. Daimler-Benz kompanije je osnovana 28. juli 1926 godine.

Osnovana 1871, Benz & Cie je bila najbitnija kompanija koju je Karl Benz osnovao. Gottlieb Daimler i Wilhelm Maybach su osnovali DMG kompaniju 1890 godine.
29. januara, 1886. godine dobio je patent za kola (DRP 37435) i u julu je predstavio svijetu prvi benzinsko-pokretni automobil. 1903. godine Benz odustaje od Benz & Co. i postaje penzioner, ali zadržava mjesto na nadzornom odboru sve do njegove smrti. Benz i Daimler firme su se kasnije ujedinjene da bi se stvorila Daimler-Benz firma 1926. godine - automobili te kompanije su otada poznati kao Mercedes-Benz. Umro je 1929. godine u Ladenbergu.
Nakon dijeljenja kompanije Daimler AG, odjel Mercedes-Benz Cars sada je nadležan za proizvodnju automobila marke Mercedes-Benz i Smart .
Mercedes-AMG je postao odjel u većinskom vlasništvu mercedes-Benza 1999. godine.[1] Kompanija je integrisana u u DaimlerChrysler 1999.[2] i postala je poznata kao Mercedes-AMG od 1. januara 1999.
Mercedesov ultraluksuzni Maybach bio je u sklopu Mercedes-Benz Cars-a do decembra 2012. godine kada je proizvodnja zaustavljenja zbog smanjene prodaje.[3] Sada psotoji pod imenom Mercedes-Maybach čiji su modeli fokusirani na luksuz i radi se poboljšanim Mercedes-Benz automobila, kao što je primjerice Mercedes-Benz S-klasa iz 2016. godine.[4]
Daimler se udružio s kompanijom BYD Auto u proizvodnji i prodaji automobila na električni pogon pod imenom Denza u Kini.[5] 2016. godine Daimler je najavio planove za prodaju automobila u potpunosti na električni pogon s oznakom Mercedes-Benza u Kini.[6] Beijing Benz je zajednički pothvat sa BAIC grupom za prodaju automobila marke Mercedes-Bnez u Kini.[7]
