সুয়েজ সংকট বা ত্রিপক্ষীয় আগ্রাসন[16] হল ১৯৫৬ সালে ইসরায়েল, ব্রিটেন ও ফ্রান্স কর্তৃক মিশর আক্রমণ। এর উদ্দেশ্য ছিল সুয়েজ খালের উপর পশ্চিমা নিয়ন্ত্রণ পুনপ্রতিষ্ঠিত করা এবং মিশরের রাষ্ট্রপতি জামাল আবদেল নাসেরকে ক্ষমতাচ্যুত করা।[17] লড়াই শুরু হওয়ার পর যুক্তরাষ্ট্র, সোভিয়েত ইউনিয়ন ও জাতিসংঘ তিন আক্রমণকারী পক্ষকে সরে আসতে বাধ্য করে।[18][19]

১৯৫৬ সালের ২৯ অক্টোবর ইসরায়েল মিশরের সিনাই উপদ্বীপ আক্রমণ করে। ব্রিটেন ও ফ্রান্স কর্তৃক যুদ্ধবিরতির একটি যৌথ আল্টিমেটাম জারি করা হলে তা উপেক্ষা করা হয়েছিল। নভেম্বরের ৫ তারিখ ব্রিটেন ও ফ্রান্সের প্যারাট্রুপাররা সুয়েজ খাল অঞ্চলে অবতরণ করে। মিশরীয়রা পরাজিত হয় তবে তারা খাল দিয়ে জাহাজ চলাচল বন্ধ করে দেয়। সরকারের অস্বীকার সত্ত্বেও এটি পরিষ্কার ছিল যে ইসরায়েলি আগ্রাসন ও এর পরবর্তী ইঙ্গ-ফরাসি আক্রমণ তিন দেশের পূর্ব পরিকল্পিত ছিল।
তিন মিত্রপক্ষ তাদের কয়েকটি সামরিক উদ্দেশ্য অর্জন করতে সফল হয়। কিন্তু সুয়েজ খাল অকেজো হয়ে পড়ে এবং যুক্তরাষ্ট্র ও সোভিয়েত ইউনিয়ন তাদের সরে যাওয়ার জন্য চাপ প্রয়োগ করতে থাকে। যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের রাষ্ট্রপতি ডোয়াইট ডি. আইজেনহাওয়ার ব্রিটেনকে আক্রমণ না করার জন্য সতর্ক করেছিলেন। এসময় তিনি ব্রিটিশ অর্থ ব্যবস্থার প্রতি হুমকি প্রদান করেন। ইতিহাসবিদদের মতে এই সংকটের পর পরাশক্তি হিসেবে ব্রিটেনের ভূমিকা শেষ হয়।[20] ১৯৫৬ সালের অক্টোবর থেকে ১৯৫৭ সালের মার্চ পর্যন্ত সুয়েজ খাল বন্ধ ছিল। ইসরায়েল তার কিছু উদ্দেশ্যপূরণ করে। এর মধ্যে ছিল তিরান প্রণালি দিয়ে যাতায়াতের স্বাধীনতা।
সংঘর্ষের ফলাফল দাঁড়ায় মিশর-ইসরায়েল সীমান্তে জাতিসংঘ কর্তৃক শান্তিরক্ষী বাহিনী মোতায়েন, ব্রিটিশ প্রধানমন্ত্রী এন্টোনি ইডেনের পদত্যাগ, কানাডিয়ান পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী লিস্টার পিয়ারসনের নোবেল শান্তি পুরস্কার লাভ এবং এই ঘটনা সোভিয়েত ইউনিয়নকে হাঙ্গেরি আক্রমণ করতে উৎসাহিত করেছিল বলে মত রয়েছে।
