Нара́ — тунэль пад зямлёй з адным ці некалькімі хадамі вонкі, выкапаны жывёламі з мэтай стварэння прасторы для пражывання, размнажэння, вырошчвання дзіцянят, захавання запасаў корму, часовага прытулку.
Асноўныя (гнездавыя) норы выконваюць адразу ўсе гэтыя функцыі, дапаможныя — адну з іх[1]. Норы — адзін з відаў абароны ад шэрагу драпежнікаў, месца для запасу харчавання, таму норны лад жыцця шырока распаўсюджаны.
У норах жыве цэлы шэраг рыб, земнаводных, паўзуноў (у тым ліку невялікіх дыназаўраў і птушак, а таксама шматлікія бесхрыбетныя, у тым ліку насякомыя, павукі, марскія вожыкі, ракападобныя, малюскі і чарвякі. Норы многіх жывёл (буйныя грызуны, барсукі, лісіцы) могуць існаваць сотні і тысячы гадоў. Норы часта засяляюцца не толькі іх гаспадарамі, а і іншымі жывёламі. Складаны біяцэноз некаторых норных млекакормячых можа ствараць спрыяльныя ўмовы шматгадоваму існаванню ўзбуджальнікаў небяспечных хвароб (напрыклад, чумы, лейшманіёзаў і інш)[1].
