Аоста (па-італьянску: Aosta, па-француску: Aoste) — горад у Італіі, які месьціцца ў дзьвюхмоўным рэгіёне Вальле-д’Аоста, зьяўляючыся ягоным адміністрацыйным цэнтрам. Знаходзіцца за 110 км на паўночны захад ад Турыну. Каля места месьціцца італьянскі пачатак Манблянскага тунэлю.

Рэгіён Аосты быў заселеная ў прагістарычныя часы. Геаграфічнае разьмяшчэньне места пры зьліцьці дзьвюх рэкаў надало яму значнае вайсковае значэнне, а ягоны плян забудовы быў падобны на рымскі вайсковы лягер.
Пасьля зьнікненьня Заходняй Рымскай імпэрыі горад быў заваяваны, па чарзе, бургундамі, остготамі і бізантыйцамі. Лянгабарды, якія далучылі яго да свайго Італьянскага каралеўства, былі выгнаныя войскамі Франкаўскай імпэрыі пад кіраўніцтвам Піпіна Кароткага. Пры ягоным сыне Карле Вялікім Аоста набыла важнае значэньне як места на дарозе з Аахэну ў Італію. Пасьля 888 году горад быў часткай адноўленага каралеўства Італіі. У X стагодзьдзі места ўвайшло ў склад Бургундзкага каралеўства. Пасьля падзеньня апошняга ў 1032 годзе Аоста была ўлучаная ў склад земляў графа Гумбэрта I Савойскага. За часам Напалеона места было акупаванае Францыяй, але паводле вынікаў Венскага кангрэсу вылучалася з францускай дзяржавы.
