በቻይና ልማዳዊ አፈ ታሪክ ዘንድ፣ ዥዎሉ በቻይና ጥንታዊው ንጉሥና ቅድማያት ኋንግ ዲ («ቢጫው ንጉሥ») ተመሠርቶ እንደ ዋና ከተማው አገለገለው። በተጨማሪ በዚህ አካባቢ በዥዎሉ ውግያ (2331 ዓክልበ. ግድም) ኋንግ ዲ ጠላቱን ቺ ዮውን ድል አደረገው።
