Die Ipatijef-klooster (Russies: Ипатьевский монастырь, Ipatijefski Monastir) is ’n klooster vir monnike aan die oewer van die Kostromarivier, net oorkant die stad Kostroma. Dit is omstreeks 1330 gestig deur ’n Tataar wie se manlike afstammelinge Boris Godoenof insluit. Dit is gewy aan Hypatios van Gangara.

In 1435 het Wasili II van Moskou vrede hier gesluit met sy neef Wasili Kosoi. In dié tyd was die klooster ’n bekende onderrigsentrum en dit is hier waar die weergawe van die Primêre Kronieke ontdek is wat nou bekend is as die Ipatijefse Kodeks.
Tydens die Tyd van Beroeringe in Rusland is die klooster in die Russiese lente van 1609 deur ondersteuners van Vals Dmitri II beset. In September van dié jaar is die klooster ná ’n lang beleg deur die Moskouse leër verower. Op 14 Maart 1613 is aangekondig Michail Romanof, wat saam met sy ma hier gebly het, sal die volgende tsaar van Rusland wees.
Die meeste van die geboue dateer van die 16de en 17de eeu. Die Drie-eenheidskatedraal is bekend vir sy ryklik versierde binnekant. ’n Kleiner kerk is deur die Sowjet-regering gesloop. ’n Privaat huis van Michail Romanof is op bevel van tsaar Aleksander II van Rusland gerestoureer, maar die egtheid van die gebou word bevraagteken.[1]
Die Ipatijef-klooster is ná die Russiese Rewolusie van 1917 ontbind. Dit is deel van ’n historiese en argitektoniese bewaringsprojek, maar die owerhede het onlangs besluit om dit aan die Russies-Ortodokse Kerk terug te besorg, ondanks sterk teenkanting van museumamptenare.
