朱顶红屬（学名：Hippeastrum），属单子叶植物天門冬目石蒜科，为多年生鳞茎植物。分類上有時會與孤挺花属（Amaryllis）混淆，甚至有時作為其異名使用。

叶6-8枚，呈宽带型，顶生伞状花序。每年春夏之交开花，花漏斗状，似百合花，花色鲜艳，大多为红色，也有粉、白等色。通常用鳞茎、种子繁殖，鱗莖大小在5-12釐米左右，有毒。
性较喜阴，不耐寒，原产于南美洲热带地区，17世纪传入欧洲。
其學名取自古希臘語，意思是“騎士之星”。其中“ἱππεύς”（hippeus）的意思是騎士，“ἄστρον”（astron）的意思是星星。
