邁索爾王國（卡納達語：ಮೈಸೂರು ಸಾಮ್ರಾಜ್ಯ）是存在於1399年－1947年間，位於今印度西南部卡納塔克邦一帶，以邁索爾為中心的一個王國。邁索爾王國歷史上的大部分時期皆由世襲的瓦迪亞王朝（英語：Wadiyar dynasty）統治，統治者稱摩訶羅闍（英語：Maharaja of Mysore）。該國最初是一個小王國，在1565年獨立，進行了一系列領土擴張，成為南印強國。1760年，穆斯林奪得實權。1799年，王位又落到瓦迪亞家族手中，同時邁索爾王國成為了東印度公司（後為英屬印度）下轄的一個印度土邦。1947年，邁索爾王國被併入印度聯邦。

起源

邁索爾王國的歷史來源主要是石器與銅板銘文，以及邁索爾皇宮中的資料和當代的卡納達文學作品。^[1]^[2]^[3]邁索爾王國的起源目前還存有爭議，一種說法是在今邁索爾一帶的古城，該城一對兄弟所創建，並不斷發展壯大，慢慢形成邁索爾王國。^[4]^[5]

毗奢耶那伽羅王朝時期

邁索爾王國最初只是毗奢耶那伽羅王朝下轄的一個小王國，到1565年時，王國使用一支300人的軍隊，^[6]已將規模擴大到33個城鎮。君主提瑪拉賈在他統治時期征服了周圍的幾個酋邦，^[7]以及君主拉賈·瓦迪亞一世占領了包括斯赫里朗格阿帕特塔納等地區。^[8]^[9]

文塔卡帕提·德瓦·拉亞統治期間，國力強盛。約1565年，毗奢耶那伽羅王朝國力空虛時，邁索爾王國成為獨立國家，並將首都遷至邁索爾郊區，稱為斯赫里朗格阿帕特塔納。

獨立的王國與英邁戰爭

17世紀，邁索爾王國在坎蒂拉瓦·納拉薩拉賈一世（英語：Kanthirava Narasaraja I）和奇卡·德瓦拉賈（英語：Chikka Devaraja）統治時期進行了一系列的擴張，成為了德干高原南部的強國。18世紀，首席大臣（英語：Sarvadhikari）海德爾·阿里和蒂普蘇丹統治時期，邁索爾的國力達到頂峰。海德·阿里雖是文盲，但是其在歷史上地位是不可忽視的。^[10]^[11]海德統治期間，正逢印度次大陸歷史上的一個重要時期，占領印度貿易主動權的歐洲人開始謀求政治權力，海得拉巴人企圖稱霸德干高原，而馬拉地人在打了敗仗後則希望在印度南部紮根。這一時期，英法雙方在爭奪其在印度的地位，最終英國人獲得了勝利，進一步確立了其在印度南部的霸權地位。^[12]儘管此時邁索爾王國的王位名義上還在瓦迪亞王朝手中，實際上，王國的實權已轉移到海德·阿里及其子蒂普蘇丹手中。^[13]

1761年，馬拉地帝國的威脅一再減弱，1763年，海德·阿里占領科拉迪王國（Keladi kingdom），占領了比爾吉、貝德努爾（Bednur）和古提（Gutti）三地，並南下入侵馬拉巴（Malabar），並在1766年占領了薩摩林（Zamorin）的都城卡利卡特，同時北上擊垮了達瓦德和貝拉里，邁索爾王國的領土得到了最大限度的擴張，^[14]^[15]並成為了印度次大陸的一個主要國家，成為不列顛東印度公司在南印的主要敵人，邁索爾王國也準備向勁敵英國發起挑戰——這次「挑戰」持續了三十多年。^[16]

為了阻止海德繼續擴張，英國、馬拉地和海得拉巴結盟，於1767年入侵邁索爾王國，挑起第一次英邁戰爭（英語：First Anglo-Mysore War）。海德·阿里領導的邁索爾軍在成罕（Chengham）與蒂魯萬納馬萊（Tiruvannamalai）遭遇失敗，英國一度占領邁索爾三分之一的國土，但是邁索爾軍隊逐漸挽回局勢，1769年3月，轉入反攻，並成功轉移到英軍的腹地，直奔英軍重要基地馬德拉斯（金奈），英國人最終不得不和邁索爾進行和談，1769年，第一次英邁戰爭結束。^[12]^[15]^[17]

到了1779年，邁索爾國土面積已達205,000km²。^[15]1780年，邁索爾和馬拉地、海得拉巴停止了衝突，同時和法國人建立了合作關係。^[18]同年爆發第二次英邁戰爭（英語：Second Anglo-Mysore War），邁索爾得到了法國人、海得拉巴與馬拉地人的支援。戰爭初期，邁索爾在各地接連獲勝，海德之子，蒂普蘇丹也參加了這次戰爭，他曾帶領軍隊北上進攻英軍，取得了一定成果，英軍士氣低迷，直到艾爾·庫特爵士（Sir Eyre Coote）抵達，英軍的士氣才有所改觀。^[19]1781年6月1日，邁索爾軍敗給了庫特爵士，此次戰役被視為英印戰事中的一次壯舉。另一次大戰發生在8月27日的波利盧爾（Pollilur），邁軍獲得決定性勝利。在邁索爾盟友的協助下，英國的計劃被打亂，雙方進入對峙狀態。12月，海德去世，蒂普蘇丹繼位，便開始新一輪的攻勢。^[15]^[20]英軍和邁索爾軍進行了多場戰役，雙方發動了一輪又一輪的攻勢。中途，法國退出戰鬥。英邁開始謀求進行和談，1784年3月11日，簽署《門格洛爾條約（英語：Treaty of Mangalore）》，戰鬥結束。^[21]^[22]

但是蒂普蘇丹並未善罷甘休，於1789年進攻與英國關係良好的特拉凡哥爾，引發第三次英邁戰爭（英語：Third Anglo-Mysore War）。邁索爾軍處於下風，於1792年進行和談，邁索爾王國因此失去一半領土。^[21]蒂普蘇丹感到恥辱，但並未示弱，繼續準備戰爭。他暗中和大革命之後的法國政府、阿富汗人和土耳其的蘇丹建立合作關係，但是此舉被英國人發現，險些釀成戰爭。1799年，英軍大舉入侵邁索爾，第四次英邁戰爭（英語：Fourth Anglo-Mysore War）爆發，邁索爾軍大敗，蒂普蘇丹本人也在斯赫里朗格阿帕特塔納的防禦戰中陣亡。至此，邁索爾成為印度土邦，其作為獨立國家的歷史正式結束，瓦迪亞王朝（英語：Wadiyar dynasty）復辟。

邁索爾土邦與併合

邁索爾戰敗後，其部分領土被東印度公司與海得拉巴瓜分。剩下的領土重組為邁索爾土邦。瓦迪亞王朝（英語：Wadiyar dynasty）重新掌權，王公是克里什納拉賈·瓦迪亞三世（英語：Krishnaraja Wadiyar III），都城也遷回了邁索爾。^[23]^[24]^[25]1806年，蒂普蘇丹後裔製造叛亂，但很快被平息，主使人被送到了加爾各答。1831年，英國人以農民暴亂為由，一度奪走王公的統治權。印度民族起義結束後的1881年，王權才被歸還。最後在1947年，印度面臨分區問題，邁索爾選擇併入印度聯邦。儘管邁索爾土邦在各方面都受到了極大的限制，其治理下的邁索爾城在現今仍然是一個重要的印度文化及藝術重鎮，並擁有大量的王國時期遺產。
