歷史

2010 年前後， QCAD 社群版 v2.0.5.0 分支開始了獨立開發，形成了現在的 LibreCAD。最早的使用者介面是基於 Qt3 圖形庫的。

現在 LibreCAD 的圖形介面基於 Qt5，因此它可以在多個平台上執行並保持相同的介面。^[1]^[2]

GNU LibreDWG 庫是在 GPLv3 授權條款下釋出的，它不能用在以 GPLv2 授權條款釋出的 LibreCAD（和 FreeCAD）上。^[3]^[4] 因為它們的授權條款不相容.^[5] 有人向 FSF 提出將 GNU LibreDWG 重新授權為 GPLv2，但遭到了拒絕。^[6] 最後通過重寫一個以 GPLv2 釋出的稱為 libdxfrw 的替代庫才解決了這個問題，^[7] 新庫具有更完整的 DWG 支援。
