二戰時，英國建立冒牌的德國官方電台加萊士兵電台（英語：Soldatensender Calais）對德軍廣播，試圖瓦解德軍士氣。

1944年4月27日，納粹德國的飛機偽裝成英國飛機，對德國占領下的丹麥發布傳單，上面以英國政府的名義宣稱「解放的時刻已經到來」，要求德國占領下的丹麥的人民「接受俄羅斯人和美國黑人士兵的占領」，目的在於醜化同盟國在丹麥人民中的形象。
