典籍记载
《说文解字•鸟部》：“鸾，亦神灵之精也。赤色，五釆，鸡形，鸣中五音，颂声作则至。”
《山海经•西山经》：“有鸟焉，其状如翟而五采文，名曰鸾鸟，见则天下安宁。”
《白虎通德论•五行》：“太阳见于巳。时为夏，夏之言大也。位在南方。其色赤。其精为鸟，离为鸾。”
