外颈动脉（external carotid artery）源自于总颈动脉，为头颈部的一条重要动脉。总颈动脉有内颈动脉及外颈动脉两条分支，外颈动脉负责供应头颈部的血流[1]。
解剖
外颈动脉源自于甲状软骨上缘，向前上行，之后向后上行至下颚骨颈部后方，并在腮腺处分为浅颞动脉及上颌动脉，之后管径急速缩小。
功能
外颈动脉的分支包含：
- In the carotid triangle:[2]
- Superior thyroid artery, arising from its anterior aspect
- Ascending pharyngeal artery - arising from medial, or deep, aspect
- Lingual artery - arising from its anterior aspect
- Facial artery - arise from its anterior aspect
- Occipital artery - arising from its posterior aspect
- Posterior auricular artery - arising from posterior aspect
