坎农级护航驱逐舰(Cannon class destroyer escort)是美国二次世界大战期间建造的一个护航驱逐舰英语Destroyer escort舰级,专门用于船团护航以及反制敌军潜艇用。相较之前的巴克利级(Buckley-class),此级舰进行了局部的设计变更,改使用柴电引擎作为动力来源,具有6,000马力,和艾瓦兹级(Evarts class)相同,但舰身较长因此航速略高。本级船舰因为搭载的柴电动力系统采纵向配置,而又被称呼为DET型驱逐舰(DET Type,其中DET是“纵置柴电”Diesel Electric Tandem的缩写)[1]

本级舰因就役时已接近二战尾声,因此在二战期间完全没有遭击沉的纪录,多艘同级舰在战后转交给美国的盟邦海军使用。除了在二战期间就已使用了此级船舰的自由法国海军法语Forces navales françaises libres巴西海军外,在战后陆续接收到此级船舰的国家还包括乌拉圭希腊意大利日本荷兰秘鲁菲律宾韩国中华民国泰国等。

在进入21世纪后同级舰因船龄老旧陆续除役解体,其中美国唯一保有的同级舰史莱特号英语USS Slater (DE-766)(USS Slater DE-766)被安置在纽约州奥巴尼(Albany, NY)的哈德逊河上作为水上博物馆使用。至于同级舰中服役记录最久的,则是菲律宾海军所操作的胡玛邦酋长号巡防舰英语BRP Rajah Humabon (PF-11)(BRP Rajah Humabon PF-11),该舰原为美国海军阿瑟顿号(USS Atherton DE-169),1955年至1975年间曾以初日号(はつひ,JDS Hatsuhi DE-263)之名在日本海上自卫队服役,是该单位成立初期最早使用的几艘船舰之一。1976年时美国将日本所归还的该舰售予菲律宾,并在韩国经过大幅度的整修后加入菲律宾海军。直到2018年该舰退役,主要作为海面巡逻用途。
