坎农级护航驱逐舰(Cannon class destroyer escort)是美国在二次世界大战期间建造的一个护航驱逐舰舰级,专门用于船团护航以及反制敌军潜艇用。相较之前的巴克利级(Buckley-class),此级舰进行了局部的设计变更,改使用柴电引擎作为动力来源,具有6,000马力,和艾瓦兹级(Evarts class)相同,但舰身较长因此航速略高。本级船舰因为搭载的柴电动力系统采纵向配置,而又被称呼为DET型驱逐舰(DET Type,其中DET是“纵置柴电”Diesel Electric Tandem的缩写)[1]。

本级舰因就役时已接近二战尾声,因此在二战期间完全没有遭击沉的纪录,多艘同级舰在战后转交给美国的盟邦海军使用。除了在二战期间就已使用了此级船舰的自由法国海军与巴西海军外,在战后陆续接收到此级船舰的国家还包括乌拉圭、希腊、意大利、日本、荷兰、秘鲁、菲律宾、韩国、中华民国与泰国等。
在进入21世纪后同级舰因船龄老旧陆续除役解体,其中美国唯一保有的同级舰史莱特号(USS Slater DE-766)被安置在纽约州奥巴尼(Albany, NY)的哈德逊河上作为水上博物馆使用。至于同级舰中服役记录最久的,则是菲律宾海军所操作的胡玛邦酋长号巡防舰(BRP Rajah Humabon PF-11),该舰原为美国海军阿瑟顿号(USS Atherton DE-169),1955年至1975年间曾以初日号(はつひ,JDS Hatsuhi DE-263)之名在日本海上自卫队服役,是该单位成立初期最早使用的几艘船舰之一。1976年时美国将日本所归还的该舰售予菲律宾,并在韩国经过大幅度的整修后加入菲律宾海军。直到2018年该舰退役,主要作为海面巡逻用途。
