青蛙神是中國神話傳說中的妖怪，出自《聊齋志異》卷十一，此傳說在江南地區盛行。會和小孩結下娃娃親[1]，杭州信仰有祭祀青蛙神的凡俗，如果青蛙跑到居民家裏時，人們會以為是青蛙神來了，然後回敲鍛打鼓吹奏牙器送青蛙神回去[2]。本篇和《竹青》鳥妾都反應婚姻生活中的俗慮[3]。
