409年馮跋即天王位，改元太平。430年，馮跋病卒。被諡文成皇帝，廟號太祖。其弟馮弘篡位[1]，馮跋葬在長谷陵（今遼寧省凌源市附近）。馮跋的長谷陵還沒有被發現，馮跋的弟弟馮素弗的墓地在遼寧省北票市西官營子村於1965年發掘。
