生平

生於英格蘭薩默塞特，父親為一保險員。後來，他進入劍橋大學唐寧學院學習法律，並加入了劍橋大學馬戲團。1963年，克里斯大學畢業。1969年，與其他人共同組建喜劇表演團體「Monty Python's Flying Circus」。之後，他又拍攝了若干部喜劇電影，如《巨蟒和聖杯（英語：Monty Python and the Holy Grail）》（Monty Python and the Holy Grail）、《萬世魔星》（Life of Brian）、《人生七部曲（英語：Monty Python's The Meaning of Life）》（The Meaning of Life）和《瑞士華庭》（The Palace）等。
