子宇文元寶為高歡所害。於同時追贈大將軍、小司徒、大都督、幽州燕州等六州諸軍事、幽州刺史。襲爵杞國公，諡號烈。以章武公宇文導子宇文亮為宇文元寶嗣子，後宇文亮弟宇文椿繼嗣[3]。
