該基因編碼的蛋白質是半胱氨酸組織蛋白酶肽酶C1家族的成員，是一種半胱氨酸蛋白酶組織蛋白酶，可能在T細胞溶細胞活性的機制或調節中具有特定功能。編碼的蛋白質被發現與自然殺傷細胞和細胞毒性T細胞的內質網內的細胞膜有關。該基因的表達被白血球介素2上調。^[7]
