蒂莫西·詹姆斯·布魯克(英語:Timothy James Brook,1951年1月6日—),漢名卜正民,出生於加拿大安大略省多倫多市,畢業於多倫多大學、哈佛大學,是一位加拿大的漢學家。[1][2][3][4]
生平
1951年,卜正民出生在加拿大安大略省多倫多市並成長於該地。[1][2][5]
卜正民在多倫多大學取得英語文學學士學位,1977年又在哈佛大學取得東亞歷史學碩士學位,1984年在哈佛大學取得東亞歷史學和東亞語言博士學位。[6]
1984年開始,卜正民在阿爾伯塔大學擔任研究員;1986年,卜正民擔任多倫多大學教授助理;1997年,卜正民擔任斯坦福大學教授;1999年以後,他一直擔任多倫多大學教授。[6]
2007年,卜正民擔任不列顛哥倫比亞大學聖約翰學院教授;他是不列顛哥倫比亞大學亞洲研究所的西藏問題專家。[7]
卜正民的學術研究領域主要是中國歷史(尤其專注於明史)、中國皇權時期社會法律、日本帝國侵華戰爭史、1937年到1945年日本帝國亞洲侵略史。[3][6][8][9]
