多梳蛋白SUZ12是由人類SUZ12 基因所編碼的蛋白質[1][2][3][4]
有報導稱該鋅指基因在子宮內膜基質肉瘤中位於常見染色體易位斷裂點上。這些斷裂點相互重組導致該基因與JAZF1兩者發生融合。該基因編碼的蛋白質在編碼區域C端包含有一個鋅指結構域。目前仍未明確該基因的特異性功能[4]。

作為多梳抑制複合物2(PRC2)的一部分,SUZ12可能與HOTAIR非編碼RNA一起參與到染色質沉默之中,SUZ12利用其鋅指結構域與RNA分子進行結合[5]。
