背景
此專輯為邁克爾·傑克遜的生前遺作。 在2010年11月12日，遺產公司正式宣布該專輯收錄了10首歌曲。[1] 「Breaking News（突發新聞）」是專輯中第一首被發布給公眾的歌曲。（以電台形式發布）索尼公司介紹說，這些歌曲於2007年在新澤西的「卡西歐家庭工作室」開始製作，直到專輯發布前夕才製作完成。[1]在邁克爾去世的前幾年，邁克爾於許多明星合作過歌曲，如專輯的第一支正式單曲「Hold My Hand」就是邁克爾與阿肯就在2008年於拉斯維加斯進行二重唱的成果。[2]
