木聚糖

木聚糖是植物細胞中主要的半纖維素成分，占植物細胞乾重的35%，是一種豐富的生物質資源，是自然界中除纖維素之外含量最豐富的多糖。

木聚糖可以通過氫鍵與纖維素結合, 通過氫鍵和共價鍵與木質素和果膠結合參與細胞壁的形成^[1]。

結構

木聚糖的結構是一種多聚五碳糖，由木糖通過β-1,4糖苷鍵連接成糖鏈^[2]。在某些藻類中也有β-1,4或β-1,4-1,3混合連接的主鏈^[3]。 根據不同取代基可將木聚糖分為3種^[1]：

• 葡糖醛酸木聚糖：存在於雙子葉植物以及一些非禾本科的單子葉植物次生壁中。
• 阿拉伯木聚糖：存在於禾本科植物的穀粒中。
• 葡糖醛酸阿拉伯木聚糖：存在於雙子葉植物的初生壁及禾本科植物的營養組織和除買麻藤門外裸子植物的細胞壁中。

木聚糖部分降解可形成低聚木糖，徹底降解則得到五碳單糖：木糖、阿魏糖、阿拉伯糖等，其中以木糖為主。
