施侃自小聪敏，成年后肆力学习，熟习经史与阴阳、兵卜各种知识；写作的古文才情雄浑，诗歌则意兴清远。他在正德五年（1510年）中举人[2]，嘉靖五年（1526年）成进士，在京师去世，著有《菁山集》[1]。
