镤氧化物和四氯化碳在200-300° C时反应生成五氯化镤,其副产物(如PaOCl3)会升华而被去除。[5]
将五氯化镤和氢气一并加热到800° C,会反应生成四氯化镤。其在真空条件下升华所需的最低温度为400 ° C。[5]
