长体叶鲱为辐鳍鱼纲鲱形目鲱科的其中一种，分布于西太平洋的暹罗湾海域，栖息深度可达50公尺，体长可达6.7公分，栖息在沿海海域，可做为食用鱼。
其种加词“elongata”意为“长的”。
