拟音
一派拟音为/ȵ/；另一派拟娘母时，将其拟为/ȵ/，于是相对应将日母拟为/ȵʑ/。
现代方言、语言中的读音
在北京音系中，日母为汉语拼音r[ɻ]或er[ə˞]。
在东南方言里，日母或多或少都保留有鼻音[n]或[ȵ]等白读形式。
