香艸（俗作香草），草之有香而芬芳者也，如江離、芷之屬。屈原作離騷，以之喻賢臣、君子。王逸離騷序所云「離騷之文，依詩取興，引類譬諭，故善鳥香草，以配忠貞」，陸龜蒙采葯序所謂「香草美人，得以比之君子」是也[1]。
